The Acer is mostly plastic, though it's capped with a thin sheet of aluminum to class it up a bit, the build quality is fine for what you're paying, but don't expect the durability of a premium laptop. The full-HD IPS display has pleasing color and brightness, it looks fine off-angle and the matte finish helps tame distracting reflections. It reached a respectable 6 hours, 30 minutes in a video streaming test, but for general use you'll likely only get about half that. For the price of this if you're are looking for way more performance i would go with the Acer Predator Helios 300 which has more CPU power. If you're on a strict budget, go with an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti or 1650 graphics card, which will give you good gaming performance on newer games at medium or high settings. If you can afford to, you'll be better off, Getting a laptop with an older Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of memory or newer 1660 Ti.
